Dr. A.K Gupta is a founder member and CMD of Abhishek Pharmaceuticals (a Group company of Altos Enterprises Limited) ever since its inception in 1980. Abhisheik Pharmaceuticals was instituted to render the traditional science of holistic healing and healthy living household across the globe but the journey wasn’t that easy.
The biggest challenge with Abhisheik Pharmaceuticals was to promote a traditional alternate system of medication when allopathic system of medication was widely acclaimed and acceptable worldwide. Sensing the pulse of the consumer he brewed up with an idea to present Ayurveda in a contemporary form. He capitalized on his leadership qualities and competence to create an intellectual team of Chemists, Botanists, Pharmacists, Microbiologists and Medical Practitioners to subject traditional ayurveda formulations to modern diagnostics and clinical tests.
His business acumen and leadership qualities can be ascertained from the consistent growth and enormous expansion of the company. It is to his credit that Abhisheik Pharmaceuticals have become a household name in Health Care and Personal Care Products. He is also responsible for driving all business strategy, development and communications. It is under his dynamic leadership that Abhisheik Pharmaceuticals commissioned 2 state of art manufacturing units at Ludhiana (Punjab) and have been planning to commission another ultra modern unit at Baddi (Himachal Pradesh).
He is a born perfectionist and has been instrumental in cultivating the importance of customer focus, quality, process approach, responsibility, integrity and honesty amongst its personnel and suppliers. He has been perennial source of motivation to match world’s highest quality benchmarks. He was first to adopt Good Manufacturing Practices in India, way back in 1999, without much ado just after its publication. His quest continued even after compliance with ISO 9001:2000 and now a days apart from continual improvement of the Quality Management System, Dr. Gupta is busy realizing other important standards in the company.
He is always been a brand ambassador of Ayurvedic Products and have been organizing advocacy over this traditional science of Ayurveda and its heritage over these last 28 years. He was elected as President of Ayurvedic Drug Manufacturer Association of India in 2007 and have been presiding Ayurveda Industry since then. He has been instrumental in taking up concerns of the Ayurveda Industry with State and Federal Governments.
Dr. Gupta qualified as a Medical Practitioner and Ayurvedacharya in 1979. He is an Alumini of Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak. He always yearned to be abreast with latest inventions and research in medicine. His desire to acquire latest in Industry can be testified from the numerous research journals and articles he had read and number of symposiums and lectures he have attended in these last 30 years.
Dr. A.K Gupta is married to Ms Meenu Gupta and the couple has been blessed with a daughter and a son. He starts his day with a Yoga session and offering his morning prayers. Whenever, he gets a break from his official responsibilities, he likes to spend time at home with his family.
