Giloy Churna, also known as Guduchi Churna, is a classical Ayurvedic formulation made from the dried stem of Tinospora cordifolia, a revered medicinal plant mentioned in the ancient Ayurvedic compendium Bhav Prakash Nighantu. Known for its powerful Rasayana (rejuvenative) properties, Giloy is classified under the Guduchi Varga and is praised as "Amrita" – the nectar of immortality – owing to its profound healing potential.

Ayurvedic Properties (as per Bhav Prakash Nighantu):

  • Rasa (Taste): Tikta (bitter), Kashaya (astringent)

  • Guna (Qualities): Laghu (light), Snigdha (unctuous)

  • Virya (Potency): Ushna (hot)

  • Vipaka (Post-digestive effect): Madhura (sweet)

  • Prabhava (Specific action): Tridosha Shamana (balances all three doshas – Vata, Pitta, and Kapha)

Key Benefits:

  • Immunity Booster: Acts as a natural immunomodulator that strengthens the body’s defense system.

  • Jwara Nashak (Antipyretic): Traditionally used to manage chronic and recurrent fevers.

  • Agnideepana: Enhances digestive fire and supports healthy metabolism.

  • Rakta Shodhak (Blood Purifier): Helps in detoxifying the blood and managing skin conditions.

  • Amrutopama Rasayana: Promotes longevity, energy, and vitality.

  • Supports Liver Health: Aids in liver function and promotes detoxification.

Directions for Use:

Take 1–3 grams (approximately ½ to 1 teaspoon) of Giloy Churna twice daily with warm water, honey, or as directed by a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner.
