Vijay Saar, revered in Ayurveda and described in detail in the Bhavaprakasha Nighantu, is a potent medicinal tree known primarily for its wood and heartwood extract. Traditionally referred to as Asana in Ayurvedic texts, it is praised for its Kashaya (astringent) rasa, laghu (light) and ruksha (dry) guna, and sheeta (cooling) veerya. These properties make it especially effective in managing Prameha (diabetes), Kapha-pitta disorders, and in promoting meda-kshaya (fat reduction).
